MANAGERS



Hello fellas, its the continuation of CONCEPT AND NATURE OF MANAGEMENT and i remember that i told you that your a manager :-), for those who don't read the first part of this topic well the reason behind the manager tag was secret :-)or better ignore it, L.O.L. Ok lets start!


WHAT IS MANAGER?

A manager is the person responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of individuals, monitoring their work and taking corrective action when necessary.



5TYPES KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Managing activities
2. Managing resources
3. Managing information
4. Managing people
5. Managing himself


TYPES OF MANAGER:

1. THE PROBLEM SOLVING MANAGER- putting out fires and leading chaos.

2. THE PITCHFORK MANAGER- heavy controlling hand; demanding progress, forcing accountability, pushing of results through the use of consequences, threat, scarcity and fear tactics.

3. THE PONTIFICATING MANAGER- manager will readily admit they do not follow any particular type of management strategy.

4. THE PRESUMPTUOUS (ARROGANT) MANAGER- focuses more on himself than anything else.

5. THE PERFECT MANAGER-  this manger is open to change, innovation, training, and personal growth with underlying commitment to continually.

6. THE PASSIVE MANAGER- referred parenting manager or pleasing Manager. He takes the concept of developing close relationships with their team and co-workers to new level.

7. THE PROACTIVE MANAGER- he encompasses all of the good qualities that the other types of manages posses.

8. THE AUTHORITARIAN MANAGER he is the sole decision maker for his management and prefers his subordinates to perform their tasks exactly as outline by him.

9. THE DEMOCRATIC MANAGER- the person who believes in majority consensus and takes any decision only after consulting his subordinates.

10. THE PATERNALISTIC MANAGER- the one who acts like a parent figure to his subordinates and makes sure to regular bond with his subordinates to listen to their professional issues and lend a helping hand to ease their operational difficulties.

11. THE LAISSER FAIR MANAGER- he communicates the tasks to be performed by his subordinates and sets targets and deadlines for completion of such tasks.
